If the father is a citizen, I think you may be able to apply for state medical, although he needs to accompany you when you go the office.

Also, try to research on insurance, such as Kaiser--I believe they cover preexisting conditions and do not check them prior to applying. There might be a waiting period though, to cover pregnancy, but best to check.

More than have of the people who answered this are so wrong, how dare you judge a person not knowing their circumstances of why they came to this country. Why didn't all your parents go back to their countries instead of killing most of the native Americans in this country? Everyone who is in the united states has a right to be here, all of you wouldn't have been born here if your parents, grandparents, or great grandparents didn't make the choice to immigrate to this country.

Now to answer the question yes you can get help for your baby while you are pregnant, but after you give birth the insurance coverage for you will go away, but the baby will still have it. You can go to your local consulate in your state to find someone to help you.

Dude, some of those answers really suck ***. Seriously. I do hope they all intend to stay in their own country, because, you never know when something might happen.

Cannot answer your question, as immigration and the strict rules (especially if pertaining to US immigration) are baffling. Upon my getting pregnant and my legal six months being up, I left the US and returned to Canada. I'd rather be here as it's much easier to see a doctor and there's little medical care that I HAVE to pay for straight out of pocket (at first at least.)

If returning home is not an option, see if it is possible to get counseling with an immigration lawyer. Sometimes they've free "clinic" type deals. Sometimes. It's better than taking a chance and being stuck without medical care when you need it. Especially if you really intend to stay. There are many things that could come up in your pregnancy and while you may be able to get care, you're going to end up paying for out of the ****. And then some.

Any child born on US soil (including territories) is automatically considered a citizen, and thus can gain documentation and insurance.

I don't know. Trying going back to where you came from and are legal and getting coverage there, where I don't have to pay for it.

Is the baby born yet? Once the baby is born on US soil it is a citizen and can be insured.

You should have thought of that BEFORE you got pregnant and/or entered our country.
Try social services or the Social Security Administration.
