I disagree with the statement that science and math are "stable, black and white concepts." The thing I find most fascinating about them are the many ways, combining sciences and math, that researchers can find to solve a problem.

Up until about a year ago my main interests were history and politics, but I've since discovered a fascination with math and science. They tickle my brain. Thinking about black holes, time travel or strange loops makes my head spin, and I love it!

I also like the step-by-step structure of math. Anyone could open an upper-level history book and at least understand some of it (same with most other subjects), but math takes years of learning and practice to reach the higher levels. It feels like an big accomplishment each time you learn a new subject.
