Looking at the four RBs, I can automatically tell you to bench Kevin Jones since he will be facing the #1 rush defense in the league this weekend, so his game will be rough. Also, Jamal Lewis will be going up against a porous rush defense in Kansas City, so start him for your game.

Betts and McAllister are a little more fuzzy. Washington faces Philadelphia this week, and they yielded a ton of yardage to DeAngelo Williams in both rushing and receiving. While this bodes well for many RBs, Betts may not be of that caliber. McAllister is a hard-nosed runner who has to split time with Reggie Bush and New Orleans is going up against a nasty defense in Dallas. Looking at both of these RBs, I would have to lean towards Ladell Betts due to the easier matchup and the lack of lost carries by other players.

Start Jamal Lewis and Ladell Betts

The first one is easy. Betts is coming off back to back 100 yard games and is playing against a defense that has given up a 100 yard back in 3 out of it's last 5 games. It would have been 4/5 if Betts had played the whole game the first time these teams met. That was the game Portis got hurt. Betts had 83 on 20 carries/Portis 25 on 6. Put them together and it's a 108 game.

The second one is tougher. Throw out Jones, nobody runs on Minnesota and some teams don't even try. A Martz offense against a bad pass defense equals about 40 attempts. Jones could get some receiving yardage but that isn't something you can count on out of a RB.

That leaves McAlister and Lewis. KC gives up about 20 more yards per game on the ground which favors Lewis but Dallas has given up more rushing TD's (10-8) which favors Deuce. It comes down to which team is more likely to have the lead longer and therefore be running more. I think that'll be McAlister. That and the built in decoy that is Reggie Bush makes him the choice.

I would say Jamal Lewis. The Ravens don't have a solid passing game. Therefore they will get the running game going. The Kansas City Chiefs are only 15th or so in the league in run defense. The other running back should be Betts from Washington. Why? Because the Philadelphia Eagles are 28th in the league in rush defense. Also, the Redskins will be putting Campbell at Quarterback and he is still only making his 3rd NFL start so they will probably be using Betts more often

Kevin Jones is back and looks to be running well. McAllister is going to loose more and more time to Bush because Bush is playing well. Lewis has less of a chance of loosing carries to the other RBs in Baltimore, Betts will loose goal line carries to Duckett.
