If a woman hits an adult it is considered wrong to hit her back and shady to even restrain her physically. This is consistent with the treatment of children.

For criminal actions women are most often not wholly responsible for their actions. Even in cases where they are found to be somewhat responsible the sentences softened from the typical adult sentence. Again, consistent with children.

Women insist on being permitted to work in heavy labour environments, military combat posts, etc. Yet they always insist on substantially lower standards, afterall we wouldn't expect a woman to do the same job as an adult... that'd be sexist.

Women are pure-clean, generally good, innocent, and if a wrongful act is committed - a victim. Again consistent with children.

The list could go on, but the point is made. Why are women treated like children?

I am fully in favour of treating women in general like adults. I am wondering why some insist on maintaining this charade and claiming that it isn't sexist for women to generally be treated like so.

There are exceptions, but exceptions don't make the rule, unfortunately/fortunately. It is wrong to hit 'anyone', but that isn't the point.

So, how do you justify your sexism/bigotry?

...that is if you do indeed seek to justify/support such things.

Also, it isn't merely a matter of "special privileges", it's a matter of alternative treatment. I could ask a similar question saying "Are men equivalent to child molesters" based on general societal treatment.

By the way, my question is in no way sexist. If you thought it was, you were lax on your first reading and need to reread before considering an answer. (preferably an answer free of bigotry)

Good point. I don't know exactly why. Maybe it’s because men run the system, and we tend to have a soft spot for women. If only that was the opposite way around...lol

Your answer is a bit of a generalization since there are exceptions to everything you said. A lot of the differential treatment goes back to historical puritanism, etc. wherein the man was supposed to protect the women and children. It takes society a long time to make major changes in the dynamics of relationships and treatment of others.

They aren't. A man attacked my mother in a parking garage and I fought him and I was arrested. Even though he had a gun and was going to lock us in the trunk. I had to face charges for hurting the man, even though it was in self-defense.

It is considered wrong to hit anyone. If a woman assaults you and you call the police you have the right to press charges. They aren't going to give her a slap on the wrist and let her go.
Women generally commit less violent crimes, although that is on the rise. A less violent crime is usually a lighter sentence.

And how would you like some mass generalizations for your gender? Like: There are more reports of males raping females than of females raping males, therefore men are rapists.
Men usually commit more violence than women, so men must be treated like criminals. Do you see how stupid those broad statements are? They are examples of blatant discrimination based on gender.

You might want to look into the fact that more women are out-earning their male counterpoints in the workplace and in some cases there are more women in college than men.

Its childish to believe that someone is getting special privileges due to their gender, race, etc.

But I'm sure you wouldn't believe that since you just said women are to be treated with less value than men that you are in league with the rednecks who think migrant workers who don't speak english are "taking their jobs"

I don't think this is true. Lots of women do jobs suited for 'men' and in fact can often do them better than men.

In terms of hitting, is it acceptable to hit anyone?

I don't know where you get your information, but women are held legally accountable for their actions, both criminal and civil. Some men who are battered and/or assaulted by women simply do not report it because they are embarrassed. If they did, and had the requisite proof, the woman would be held accountable.

Because any woman that tries to act "like a man" immediately is labeled a butch lesbian and everyone ignores her.

This question deserves the "Arrogant Prick of the Decade" award for condescension and sexism. Women are as likely to be equivalent to children as men are equivalent to jackasses.
