I'm sure it's just that nobody (yet) believes he is worth the asking price. The market will adjust, either someone will want him badly enough, or he will lower his price. I'm sure you'll see him somewhere.
My other sentiments are with you. He will break the record, but that does not make him a better player than Aaron or Ruth in my book. Those players won world championships and did a lot of little things that made their teams better instead of spending a career using steroids and whining to the press about everything.

He's not being blackballed, the guy is asking for 18 million dollars a year! is he on crack?! I think if he were asking for what he is now worth, around 8-10 per year. he would have had a contract by now.

No, I don't think so, even though he deserves such treatment. No one wants Bonds because he took and takes steroids, lies about it, and is NOT a team player. Imagine playing on the team with him where his every move is adulated while the real heroes of the team are ignored. He's a liability and an albatross to any team.
Chow!!

He wants too much money, as soon as he lowers the price he will get offers. but I'm pretty sure the Giants plan on signing him, they always have planned on it. They just want to show Barry no one else wants him. He will sign and he will break the record unfortunately, o well.

The big question is can he play at his potential without steroids? I believe most teams think he will play at significantly less than the 18 million dollars. Jose Canseco said he couldn't even make the team without drugs, which will now be checked on a regular basis. I personally think part of the reason he suddenly became injured was to avoid drug testing. I just hope it isn't my team that uses up the salary cap with such an experiment, and I think most teams management agree.

They are crazy for not signing him! I know how they don't want their team to center around him... but come on! He himself would bring tons of fans to the stadium. I can't see how they don't think that signing him would help their team. I personally would sign him, just for what he brings to the table. I really believe he could make a bad team, into a contender... I don't really care much if he breaks the record but if you had the chance to bring one of the all-time home run hitters to your team, would you?

nobody wants the distraction in the clubhouse. He's going to be a tornado of press coverage as he gets closer to Aaron's record and most of his press is negative, so what would be the benefit for a team like St. Louis or Oakland???
