Why are Blacks black and Whites white but...?

...Asians are not Yellows and Indians are not Reds and Hispanics are not Browns etc. Why are Blacks and Whites the only people defined by color?

Interesting question. Maybe this originates predominantly from the developing of our country. People did not want to say that they were English (or other nationality), as they felt close to America. However classifying American as a race would have been wrong because of the large black population. Thus black and white as a classification would seem correct. Seems like the right answer to me.

Because ALL YOU COULD FIND in West was Black and White. They invented this to draw a line between the two races, because the White thought the Blacks were threat, and taking over. Other races such as the Indians, Hispanics were getting slaughtered by the Whites and took their lands, so they didn't think they even were part of the civilization and competition. Where I came from in Africa, as long you are a light skinned as a white person, we consider them as a White. ONLY the White people uses this race lebel.

Who knows or cares. White & Black arent colors either, they're bases or something I dunno. So we're not defined by color. Asians arent yellow, they're white skinned and Hispanics come in many different shades so that could be a reason.

White people invented the name. When we came to the US we were Africans. Then we became Negroes, which is obviously a reference to the color black, and all kinds of other stuff. Black people didn't invent it cuz black people know they ain't black. We're various shades of skin tones.

Whites created this to have racism, to make them think they are better. You see in the dictionary that white suppose to mean pure , perfect etc... As black mean bad, wrong, etc.. propaganda B.S as usual.
