Fair or not, you will think twice about coming home so late, or shall I say early....
Your family cares about you, and the least you could have done was called. What with accidents from drinking and driving, I know I would be upset if my sister came home that late without saying hey...I am here...don't worry. I am still alive...something!
It is all about communication.

Uh, yeah. You broke the rules. You need to get it through your head that breaking rules has consequences. What are you doing out drinking til 6 AM anyhow? Honestly, all your dad wants for you is for you to grow up into a responsible, functioning adult. He wants you to have fun, just not put yourself and anyone else at risk to do it. Under age drinking puts you and people around you at risk. I live in a small town and we've lost several young people because of drinking and driving in the last few years. Three this year alone. This is serious business and at 16 you don't have the judgement to keep yourself safe so your dad and brother have to step in with rules and punishment to try to get the idea accross.

Think about it:
Your 16
You were drinking (underage)
You came home at 6am.
This is more than fair. When I was your age, My mom used to beat the crap out of me for being even 20 mins late. I'd take the grounding any day.

Im a recovering alcholic. Believe you me Drinking is not even a way to have a party. I think you should really take the time you have being grounded and learn something from it. God loves you.

Yes, you blew it. Take responsibility for your actions. Your Dad was lenient. My Dad would have had me drink a 6 pk of lukewarm beer and puke my brains out over and over again. You, dude, are lucky that ALL you got was grounding. Learn your freaking lesson, huh?

It's fair only because you are 16... if you were 21 then it would be different. But your brother has no reason to say anything to you, he was young once.

Well Im thinking that if youre young enough to be grounded then yes its probably fair that you get lectured/grounded for staying out so late.. my parents would have killed me.

yes its fair it could have been worse, they are only showing you discipline. You are too young to be staying out that late at night, anything could happen. Respect them they love you and are only doing their best to raise you the best way they can. You will thank them when you are older.

Looking back you should have stayed out till 10-11am the next morning! Your dad will get over it and it will blow over..a month in your life is a little amount of time..use that time to surf the net and figure out ways not to get caught next time! Your dad and brother mean well..

most likely it was because you came in from a party at 6am. You must have been out all night worring them.
