How bout breaking it up into 2 sentences?

The most relevant examples of events that show the oracle of Oedipus' life led Oedipus to run away from them. That, in turn, led him to fulfill the prophecies.

Oedipus knew his destiny, according to the oracles spoken over him. His choice to run away to avoid the fulfillment directly led to it instead.

Is that clearer? It is now two sentences. Often with English, when things look complicated, dividing up the sentence into two shorter ones clarifies the meaning. (OR: Long English sentences can be hard to understand. It is good to divide up a long sentence into 2 shorter ones.)

In not running from the most relevant events in Oedipus'life, he was able to fulfill the prophecies that created his oracle.
