Let me see, perhaps it'll fulfill both of your queries:

Life's Brief Candle - William Shakespeare, from the play "Macbeth". Go for some summarries, then you'll understand. I'd type out the whole poem and the explaination, but my book is gone!!!! Wahhh!!! I really want to help you, really, I like poems. At a second thought, perhaps this poem is not that good. You'll need to know the whole story, but Macbeth is a simple story. Macbeth a loyal and kind general, met witches that told him he will be king, then he killed the king, many visions and guilt made him crazier everyday, his wife turned mad of guilt and visions/ghosts?, he became a bad ruler because of his craziness out of guilt, the people rebelled and killed him.

Many Shakespeare go deep into the heart, although you may not understand it fully at first. Good luck!
