Carbon...definitely carbon. Carbon is the best element ever. Carbon is the reason for all of our existences.

I would say it is hydrogen. If something is in front of hydrogen it forms a "hydride" such as LiH, lithium hydride. If something is behind hydrogen it forms an acid such as HCl, hydrochloric acid. If hydrogen is by itself it forms a diatomic gas molecule H2.
