the population is growing fast in other third-world countries also like India and some parts of Asia. this is simply because there is not enough education or resources about birth control and women who would benefit from birth control the most do not have much say in sexual relationships or marriage. and there are initiatives to spread the word about birth control but the are some culture constraints about on it. in those countries women have children. this is one of the only ways they participate in family matters. in some boy children bring resources to the home so it is profitable to have many while girls cost money to give into marriage (bride price). in Africa there is a strong sentiment against women asking men to wear condoms because men often see it as offensive or plain out won't do it because of cultural reasons. to stop quick population growth you have to start with understanding why it is happening and working with their culture to provide a viable option that will work.

Yes there are people dying each day, many under the age of 20 in Africa, but you have to remember there's a lot of people being born in the more developed regions of Africa, and these people in these section are living longer than there improvished African peers.
