I've got a new 50 pack CD-R, and I want to know whether I can burn music to them or just files.

Thank you for answering!

You can burn both files and music.

The so-called "music CD-Rs" are for set-top recorders. They cost more since they pay extra tax to RIAA. Regular CD-Rs don't pay that tax, so they don't work in those set-top recorders, but computer burners don't care about that.

You can burn music to CD-R's, and CD-RW. CD-R will only burn them once. I also bought the 50 pack, and they work great. I can play them in any cd player I have, but I like to play them in my cars stereo player..
