My fiance is getting home for the weekend tomorrow and I am just now starting my period today. I want to know if there is a way, besides prescription medication, to briefly stop my period.

You can't stop it but you can buy these things from the drug store that you insert. I think that their called Insteads. They stop the flow from coming down. You could try that. Good luck!

Seriously, if you want to stop your period, or at least make it shorter and less uncomfortable, Joe is not far off in suggesting that you stop eating and drinking.... let's clarify: stop drinking alcohol, soda, sugar-y, processed drinks, coffee, etc., and stick to water and fresh, organic fruit and veggie juices. Stop EATING anything that is processed and full of toxins. You will have to do your research to determine what that is. Some adult female raw foodees actually claim to stop menstruating which some of the more rigid hygienic practictioners (like Dr. Herbert Shelton) see as a sort of detoxification process common to women eating the usual SAD way (Standard American Diet). I know this is very radical and will maybe get me in trouble.... but there ya go.... the Internet is a vast cavern of little known facts.
You won't be able to put this into effect to stop your period by the weekend, but if you want to change your lifestyle you might be able to extinguish lengthy, uncomfortable, heavy periods in the future.

I don't really think there's a way to stop a period and honestly I had never heard of any medication for it.

if u want to stop ur period's quickly u go to the doctor's and get the pill and u only take the coloured 1's not the white one's and u won't get ur period's only when u decide 2 take the white pill

And that has to do with what? The price of eggs in China? Joking. No there is not a way to stop menstruation. If he wants it bad enough, he will not care, but if he loves you enough, he will wait.

Go to the drug store and buy some "instead" menstrual cups. They fit inside you like a diaphragm and collect the blood near your cervix. You should be able to have relatively clean sex and then go bacl to tampons on monday.

listen that's not a good idea because is can cause you serious health problems because everything needs to come out because what comes out is coming out because it doesn't belong in your body but a way to cut it a little is having a slice of lemon and eating it and swimming in cold water causes it to stop also but seriously don't try to its not healthy

You guys are gonna get married, he needs to get used to it. (And so do you....It's no big deal and I wouldn't be with a guy that thought so!) Also, you take any of those pill recomends and they are gonna have you messed up for a while. You a woman! Be proud!!

No sorry. Being in a hot beth pospones it for like 30 min. or so, but thats just for me I don't know if it would work for you.
