actually Lowes, Home Depot and any other place that sells pex fittings should have the adapter/fitting you need. I bought one that had a 1/2 pex barb on one end with a valve and a 1/4 inch compression fitting on the other for connecting a refrigerator. With the price of copper the way it is you may want to get a plastic line to run to your fridge

Caleb mentions grey PEX, I suspect s/he may be thinking of polybutylene, aka "Qest". I actually installed that in one of my own homes about 20 years ago. It has a troubled history; first the fittings (which were actually made of some other plastic) took to cracking; they switched to copper fittings (which is what I used). Then the tubing itself took to cracking. Then they gave up and switched to PEX. I don't know much about PEX.

go to lowes, they have a great selection of plumbing stuff. im sure you can find a part to convert from pex to threaded piping, then just attach a fitting to the copper line. it might not be a bad idea to use a more flexible line so it is easier to move the fridge. be sure to install a valve so it is easy to turn of the water from behind the fridge.

I like the Lowes answer. I would just run pex to the refrigerator.

Drill half inch hole in floor behind fridge! buy the kit for it. There will be a thing in the kit that goes onto a copper water pipe in the basement, or behind the frige. follow the enclosed instructions in the kit--it will tell you exactly how to do it. took my son 20 minutes to hook it up! Then seal around hole and pipe with dum-dum putty.
