I for one would be whole-heartedly supportive of democracy flourishing and thriving in Iraq and among every other country on the globe.
Now, a question that should have been asked and answered long ago is what rights do we have to pick and choose countries to invade under a supposed mission to instill democracy. What is the criteria? If evil dictatorships are the threshhold, I'm afraid there are quite a few that were left unselected.
Clearly, the mission to establish democracy is a bogus claim -while other purposes were served in going to Iraq, establishing Democracy is a far cry from the reality.

I don't' care Either way.
hear me out though: I don't believe that it's up to us to decide. I beleive that is the decision of the Iraqi Peoples. out of the three peoples there, only Kurds seem to want Democracy, and in their section of the country, they have it. as for the Sunnis and Shia, who knows? I know people who've been there (Christian Peacemaker teams, not US Army) who have talked with the people there. Right now, they don't have time to consider the question. Most of them want peace from the radicals on both sides, and don't care about the form of government as long as it keeps the country at peace and controls the militias.
It does not matter what US citizens want: it's what the Iraqi citizens want.

ABSOLUTELY! but...on the off chance democracy does take hold, don't expect it to be one like ours or like the socialist democracies of the EU. Democracy is a completely foreign concept in the Middle East and trying to mix it with Islam is like mixing oil and water.

I'm willing to bet that the greater majority of Americans really don't give a damn. What the American people really want is for this nightmare to be over without sacrificing any more of our young people as cannon fodder.

It will only happen at the end of a rifle.they don't wont it, they wont to war against each other.we should never have gone over there and attacked there country. half a million Innocent Iraqis dead. just so the Jews will feel better.they wont us to take over the middle east to make them safe,I don't agree with this at all.next will be to bomb Iran into submission, which will not work and there will be a war of civilizations. If someone would nuke Israel I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks

Sure why not, anything is possible.
Do they want it? Do they deserve it? Our country was founded on people who wanted it enough to fight for it, all these people want to do is kill each other, the soldiers and make the US look bad.

I want to believe it is possible.
Mostly, I just don't want radical Islam to succeed, anywhere.
