multiply top and bottom of 1st fraction by 20,
2nd - by 15,
3d - by 12

bottoms should all be 60, so you can add and subtract the tops.

why 60? because it's the smallest number that can be divided by 3, 4 and 5.

Find the lowest common denominator.
Break each denominator down to its prime factors to powers. This problem is easy. LCD = 2^2 x 3 x 5 = 60
Change all fractions to have denominator 60

2/3 + 3/4 - 1/5

40/60 + 45/60 - 12/60 = 97/60

to find LCD you see what number goes into thos 3 numbers at the bottom usually u could multiply them but not always but it works most of the time. 3x4x5=60 is you LCD

NOW dived 60 in 3= 20 times the 2 at the top is 40
divide 60 in 4=15 times the 3 at the top is 45
divide 60 in 5=12 times the 1 at the top is 12
don't forget to keep the sign 40+45-12 and at the bottom 60

so 73/60 is the answer

2/3 + 3/4 - 1/5

Find the least common denominator, which in this case would be 60.

(2/3)(20/20) + (3/4)(15/15) - (1/5)(12/12)

40/60 + 45/60 - 12/60
85/60 - 12/60
73/60
