A question for deep thought on sun signs compatibility....see details?

Ok we all typically know that water signs match best with water signs, fire with fire, earth with earth, and air with air. These matches are also the most intense ones. Im a cancer and when with a fellow water sign there is definitely a deep connection. Are all other combinations just as intense? How do we know?

It is possible to have a deep connection with any sign. There are many signs in your chart and if you have a lot of signs that will alter the qualities of your sun sign then it will change your compatibility dramatically. Most relationships will start intensely but I think the more compatibility you have the better chance there is of it being deeper, lasting longer, and being easier to revive when things get stuck in a rut. I'm a Scorpio and I've found that just about all the women I've been attracted to are Cancers. And most of my closest friends are Capricorns and Virgoes. Some of them are Pisces as well. I only have one or two friends in other signs. And I wasn't even aware that it happened until I looked up all their signs. Astrology is a very interesting subject and I think anyone that denies it having any truth at all is very close-minded.

Anyway, If you're curious to see if other combinations are intense, just meet some people with the other signs and find out for yourself. In my experiences they can be but tend to be short-lived once the personalities start to clash. I was engaged to a Libra and it was very intense and deep at first but once it cooled down it was a disaster. She lied constantly as Libras tend to do and could be very emotionally detached and indecisive. While I was honest, emotional, and decisive. We were at odds with everything. She eventually betrayed me but... That's just an example of short-lived intensity. With the right combinations in your charts you could have something intense and permanent with any sign. It's just more likely with your highest compatible signs. For Cancer: (Best) Scorpio, Pisces or (Good) Capricorn, Virgo. I hope I helped.

I have to agree with Mel B here. As an astrologer for the past 12 years, and a cancer, I have notcied that most of the people that I surround myself with are water signs. Probably because they understand me emotionally.

HOWEVER - Your Moon, Midheaven, and Ascending sign all have intricate places in your relations to other people.

Something else to contemplate....if you think of the signs as elements then you can come to these equations:

Water + Fire = Steam...will be hot, passionate and heavy...but water puts out a fire and a fire needs oxygen to breathe.

Water + Earth = Mud...thick, cleansing and cooling...but earth signs are generally easily depressed so when water approaches...they might drown.

Water + Air = Fog...Cooling and dense...but it decipates quickly with a little heat and therefore lacks the substance in which water seeks.

Water + Water = Water...emotionally similar...it may lead to irrational thought and well...emotional dependence.

This works for all other sign combinations as well. I would however say that any sign can get along with any sign...it's all in how you relate to each other.

I would say that it doesn't always depend on sun signs only. In terms of relationship and how we appear to the world, it is also important to consider moon sign and rising sign.
As a Leo, I can have intense relationship with Capricorn and Scorpio or very light easy going ones with Sagitarius and Aries.
This can happen because my moon is in Gemini (I call it the mood switchers) and my rising sign is Scorpio. As Air sign, Gemini is very chatty, adaptable and stimulating (they really know how to use mere words to get physical with someone). While as water sign, Scorpio runs deep and intense emotionally or physically (they can basically do "it" to anyone who is willing, anywhere). You can guess how cold and stable Capricorn tickles me to the bone or how sexy I think another Scorpio is (or other signs!).
My sunsign however gives me the confidence boost and desire to have fun, which goes well with Aries and Sag both fire signs!

Earth signs have a deep connection, too, but one should consider other things in the chart like the rising sign and moon sign. These things are equally important.
