Yes, you are rare indeed! You have knowledge of a great sense of right and wrong. You cannot be influenced against what your strong character feels to be right. If you abide by your own convictions, you will prevail in life and become a very happy and successful person. YOU ARE ONLY 14? My gosh, you are very mature! There will always be those who follow the crowd and buy into whatever the rappers, movie producers, and other violent promoters put out there. Eventually, adults find out they are being manipulated and sometimes find themselves. You, however, are already there. Kudos to you....stand firm....and play the guitar. You have a talent that makes you express yourself with music. That is another thing most of us do not have. Rare INDEED!

The violence that we see today, and have been seeing since the dawn of the twentieth century is due to the human race's insistence on leaving God out of the picture. With no God, I am the ultimate authority and I get to decide what is "right for me" whatever that means. In turn, if I am stronger, I can impose my will on you. Who says I can't? Society? That's their opinion.
I know that a lot of people are going to claim that religion has been responsible for more death than any thing, but this is one of those things that is accepted on the basis of frequent repetition. It is in fact atheism that has taken the vast, vast majority of lives. Especially in the twentieth century. Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, and Pol Pot (did I spell that correctly) were all atheists and very anti-religion. These men killed hundreds of millions of people. A lot of them for being Christian, or Jewish, or some other faith. There is your answer: Atheism.

WOW - You only a spring chicken man, but very insightful wuestion. I have been wondering the same a lot lately. I have put it down to the fact that life is starting to move a lot quicker than what it was 10-20 years ago. People are more stressed, spoiled, and prone to frustration, and outbursts of anger. Nobody seems to care enough to ration their time out to thinking of consequences of their actions or caring enough about how their actions may affect others around them

i agree violence everyone, but then again it always has been...it is nothing new.
we should always strive to live as peacefully as possible.
i am a fighter but i do not embrace violent behavior, some may find this a contradiction but i assure you it is not. until you have fought your enemy with everything in you to lose / win and then embrace each other in the end as equals you will never understand
sorry you get picked on bro, just stick to who you are and always look for the root of the violence that faces you...you will find that it can be overcome with peace.

You're not rare at all. And what does playing guitar have to do with getting picked on? None of my friends were violent back when we were in school. You're fishing for compliments, I think.

Because, we had lost our values, and today almost all families are divorce, so that creates alot of emptines in the kids, so when they become tennagers, they become agressive and usually go with wrong people.
