Doesn't sound like a big deal to me...maybe you could bake a dozen cookies just for them or buy some from a bakery...I don't know...I've worked first and second shifts for a few different companies...What's the freakin' deal with hating the other shift so much....I always wanted to say "Stop being a bunch of babies, grow up and get over it."
Doesn't anybody have anything better to worry about...

I had the impression that the coordinator was bent out of shape because three cookies were left out overnight in the office--a possible invitation to mice, rats, roaches, and other vermin.
Could you possibly be misinterpreting why the co-ord. was upset?
When the day shift leaves leftovers for the night shift, the night shift comes in immediately. There aren't a lot of hours where the food is left alone.
That said, if it is as you think and the day shift wanted cookies, too--well, I don't think the night shift is obliged to leave cookies for the day shift. However, if you want to be nice, bring cookies for the day people, too--and wrap them in cellophane or a plastic container and/or store them in the refrigerator, lest you have overnight four- or six-footed "visitors".

After working graveyards for years and settling for the dayshift's leftovers I would say that you did the correct thing. Think about how often it happens that the day shift will get food, gifts or special consideration that you never hear about on the night shift. Think about how often you hear about the company christmas party 3 weeks after it happened because you are working the graveyard shift. Taking anything from the day shift is never regrettable. And think about all the things you have to fix that the day shift messes up. The night shift always gets the shaft.

i don't think it should be a big deal.
i can see maybe he thought it was rude for you to leave just 3 cookies. if you were going to leave any leave at least 1/2 and a note saying what they were and that you saved half for the day shift. who was supposed to get the three cookies?
did he know how many cookies were given? he probably thought you were just being spiteful.
next time, if there isn't enough to save then just throw them away or eat the last 3. no need for him to think you were bragging you all got cookies. :)

at Christmas cookies are fair game did your boss intend for you to cut the cookies in half? If the cookies were delivered on your shift then they were yours. How simple minded of your boss to get so upset over a few cookies. Maybe his mommy doesn't make cookies for him. Ignore him and his attitudes if you can. What an @SS!!!

The coordinator is an idiot. Next time, don't leave dayshift any cookies. It sounds like he needs to find something to work on to earn his keep instead of throwing a little boy temper tantrum. He must be a fool.

Maybe you can take him some cookies tomorrow. Put his name on each of them with icing and a big red bow!
Or maybe he is stressed out over something completely unrelated and is taking it out on someone else. Holidays can be stressful. Yes it's just cookies but maybe the cookies represent some other dissatisfaction in the work place that is unresolved.

Your coordinator sounds like a loser. Who the heck gets bent out of shape over a TRAY OF COOKIES??? (Unless they were Cheryl's Cookies, in which case it's every man for himself.)

Take a plate of charcoal briquet's in and leave them out for him. Like getting a lump of coal for Christmas. what the heck, even decorate them.
