But do you really like him/her? I love my man so much, but I also truly like him. I mean I really enjoy his company. He always makes me laugh and smile. I can think about something he said or did and it makes me smile just to think about it. I think that many people are in love with their mates, but I wonder how many really like them. Any thoughts?

I knew I would get one at least one jerk like Mark g. But I am really interested in this. A couple of my friends and I were discussing Christmas gifts for our husbands and I realized that they love their husbands but when I asked them if they truly like them they looked at me like I was crazy. I am certainly not saying that everything about our relationship is perfect because that would simply not be true. I am saying that I honestly like him, as a person, a friend, a companion. When my mom died recently he was there for me 100%. He hurt because I hurt and he did everything in his power to help everyone in the family get through this terrible time. I would be missing so much if he weren't in my life and I thank god for him everyday. It's great to be in love but it's even better to love someone who you truly like also.

I think you are right. I think, especially after being together for a long time, there are many people who love their mate, but don't really like them anymore. Maybe that's why the divorce happens in half of all marriages.

I'm lucky. I love, am in love with and truly like, adore and admire my husband. I generally love his company. Everything is better when he's around. He's not only my husband, but my best pal. I think that's important. I think that might factor into the duration of a relationship.

I love my husband with all my heart and as a person I like him as well, he is not only my spouse but my bestfriend. However I do not always like what he does like leaving the dirty clothes beside the hamper instead of in it or loading the kids up with sugar right before bedtime even when I want to strangle him though I like and love him and can't imagine life without him.

I like mine, but I have to remind myself sometimes that I am in love with him. He's great as a friend, but not so much when it comes to matters of the heart. I sometimes wonder if this is what "being together" is supposed to be, or if it's supposed to be easier...
I think you are a very lucky woman...

After 11 years of marriage, I've come to the conclusion that I may not always like my husband, but I always love him.

I like my mate. I don't see how anyone can be truly happy if they can love but not like their partner.
