It never ceases to amaze me. people think that everything is fun and games in prison. they think free food, free cable tv, free education. None of that is accurate so where does the myth come from?

Ive never been in jail/prison, but I know people who have been there. From what Ive learned from them, i feel its a way out of responsibilitly in the real world. They too talked of having free this, free that, but also they talked of sadness, about being locked up, not seeing the world and what it has to offer. Overall, saying prison is great is just their way of coping and accepting their fate. For those I know today in prison, they found their own peace among what prison offers them. A way of accepting.

What circle of friends do you have. I have never heard anyone I know say prison is great. People who have been in prison would even agree nothing is better than freedom. I have heard of homeless people who put themselves in jail during the winter season.

first let me state i spent 7 years in a cali prison 4 of them in solitary so i know what im saying.you do get free basic cable,not to mention a prison movie channel that plays new movies each week nothing over pg13 though,you also get 2 hot and one cold meals a day,there is free education even college if you buy the books i know quite a few guys who have earned B.A.'s in numerous studies.now the fun in games is not to far off you see we all get tired of the tension and drama that constantly invades the air so we act like teenage morons horse playing and wrestling,also there are all sorts of athletic equipment from basketballs to hackeysacks so yeah a guy gets use to that life now me i prefer responsibilty to prison,i mean imagine never paying bills,all your food cooked and in most places brought to your door,nothing like it should be though thats why no one learns their lesson

So.....you are saying that inmates do not receive free food? Or cable television? Are you saying that no state or federal penitentiaries are equipped with better libraries, including law libraries, than most state colleges? 3 hots and a cot is just a myth????
