I have been trying to concieve but I can't get my period regulated and I don't ovulate because of this.I didn't want to take birth control to regulate it for the obvious reasons and I went to a new dr and he wanted to try this for a couple of months. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I took Provera in August because I had been bleeding for 32 consecutive days!!!! and plus obviously my periods were irregular!! I took it for Ten 10 days, and now my periods, are slowly getting back on track! They went from 36 days in September, 34 days in October, 29 days in November!! So for me it did wonders!!! But it may not for others. Go to www.webmd.com and put in Provera as the drug name, it will give you all of the side effects, etc. Good Luck!

I have used Birth Control, Prometrium, and Provera to regulate my cycles.

Do they know why your cycles aren't regular? Sometimes finding that out can help. Out of the three medications, I have to say Provera was the best in terms of the side effects. With hormones, as we know, we can get a bit wonky(cranky, etc), and Prometrium is the worst, the mood swings I would get were awful, and my husband ran for the hills.
If you get the dosage right, Provera will help you with your cycle, it is a matter of trial and error.
BTW.. I also was trying to get pregnant and used Clomid at high doses. I never got pregnant and it had left scarring in my liver. It does work for some people though, so don't give up hope. I, in the end, chose to adopt and I have 2 wonderful little boys!

Good Luck!!

I heard that Provers is horrible for your cycle. When I was tyring to get pregnant with my son, I told my doctor that I had been trying for over a year and he gave me clomid, I got pregnant the next month.
