We always get togethar as a family for my
Dads Christmas Eve Birthday, he died last year,
so I'm glad I started a tradition of our own, ever since my kids were born (20,18,10 & 6) we have had a birthday cake for Jesus.
Some years have worked out better than others but I've tried to sit while the candle burns and tell him what WE will try to give HIM for his birthday this year. We try to do it after Dad's birthday, when we get home (late) and each open one gift, send kids to bed and let candle burn out.

yes we've had this tradition since I can remember first the immediate family gathers at my grandmas and open gifts from each other then all the family gathers and we eat dinner than me, my mom, my sister, and my grandma ride around looking at Christmas lights than we go home and wait for "Santa" that's our family tradition
