The student can comply with the teacher or go to the administrator, no fights , no questions.

Talk to the parents. Report the bad behaviour to the principal.

Do not punish the whole class with extra homework or anything else for the actions of one student. My teacher did this when I was in school, punished the rest of us for the actions of one silly boy. It never worked to stop him, and I failed that class because I couldn't keep up with all the extra homework. Plus, this gave me a seething hatred for that teacher (which took years to get rid of), and I ended up being extremely cynical about every teacher I had after that. Her reasoning was that we would pressure the offensive student to cease and desist. She overlooked the fact that he was a bully, and larger, more muscular, and much more mean than the rest of us. Not all bullies are cowards, either.

Be well, and good luck. I do not envy you, my friend.

If a student is being difficult with the teacher, there is always detention or planning a parent-teacher conference to discuss the students behavior.
