She has attitude, she can be rude, she doesn't get along with too many people, runs on mock speed, and is kind of an energy vampire. However, come Hell or High Water she would be there and has been (through life threating crises) It's a tough one.

I have a cousin exactly like that. She has extreme bipolar along with several other mental disorders, and she doesn't live in a stable family that supports her, takes care of her, and acts like they love her, so when she visits, I try to be compassionate and think of her situation when she's being hard to tolerate. The first thing to do is simply try to avoid situations where your cousin will meet any one, but when your cousin does ending up having to meet some people, try to call the people ahead of the meeting time and warn them privately about your cousin's typical behavior. If you don't get a chance to warn them first, and your cousin does say or do something really out of line, call the victims after your cousin's gone and apologize for whatever she or he did and tell them not to take it personally.

Tell her about herself. No better cure for a bad attitude than the truth.

talk to her about what problems you have with her. If she's there hell or high water, then she'll probably stick around to deal with what you have to say
