Besides cutting a slice of trunk off at the bottom and keeping the stand full of water, I always keep a spray bottle nearby and spray water directly over the whole tree. It doesn't hurt the decorations or the lights and really does keep the tree fresher, longer. The pine scent also is more noticeable for a longer time too and yes, the cooler you keep the temperature, the better. We always buy our tree on Thanksgiving and as long as we water and spray it twice a day, it doesn't start to drop needles until right before Christmas. We keep our tree up until after New Year's and even then it still looks great.
Good luck with yours.

Christmas trees can suck up a gallon of water w/i 24 hours after you purchase and cut the bottom off. So check the water level in your holder the a couple of times the first day, then every day or so after. If you let it go dry, the tree will dry out. There are usually chemical preservatives that you can purchase that are supposed to help preserve it.

make sure to cut about an inch off the bottom. When initially cut the tree puts a layer of sap on the cut which doesn't allow the tree to get water. So, cut an inch off and put it in water and you'll be good and the tree will be watered.

Hello. Saw off 3-4 inches of the bottom. Steady it in the holder and check the water level everyday keeping it watered. Enjoy! This will keep it nice and fresh for days.

We used to put about 1/4 cup of sugar in the water for the tree each time it needed to be filled. Pine trees are full of sweetness, and they need this to stay fresh.

i'd leave them on the bush see you later as you may. you need to carry them as a lot as dry - they could very last more. that's for Grumpcook: curiously holly is provided in male and woman. discover someone with holly that has berries, reduce off a branch and bury area of it next for your holly. the conception is to root this second piece and performance them bypass polinate. attempt this in Spring or Fall. this can be sure you get berries from then on. examine this out on a gardening web site, only to be confident i'm getting it precise.

First I would try to put the CHRIST back in the CHRISTmas. And lots of water in the stand. certain types, I have heard, tend to soak up the water more than others.
