If you are ready to pop, five min. apart. If you are really worried, just call your Doc. if it sounds like you should go in they'll hook you up to a machine that measures your contractions. (I did this a couple of times before the real deal. It's kind of hard to tell)P.S. early labor contractions feel like menstral cramps. I know it's hard to remember what that feels like when you've been pregnant so long, but once you think to yourself....Wow, I feel like I'm getting my period...It's probably close. Godd luck!!

Your doctor should have told when you should call him or be ready to go to the hospital. Braxton Hicks are quite common at this time in your pregancy.

It sounds like this is your first child. Your contractions should be regular and timeable. That is they should be coming 5 minutes apart and lasting for 30 seconds or more. The closer together the contractions come and the longer the duration of each contraction, the closer you are to delivery.

I've had 5 children - you are in for the most wonderful experience of your life. I wish I could trade places with you!

God Bless you and happy labor day!

If they are 5-7 mins apart , lasting 30-60 secionds each and stay that far apart for an hour is when you go in, unless your OB suggested differently. My OB gave me a whole sheet of info to tell me what to do - they wanted me to call them when they were like 10 or so apart so they could see how I sounded...

Good luck :)

With my son, my Dr told me that if they were 3-5 minutes apart and lasting for 1-2 minutes, to RUSH to the hospital. Congratulations on the little one soon to enter this world!

That is really up to your doctor. You should ask when to be concerned. I can say when they get even like five minutes (not one at five one at four and one a five) and progressively get stronger and longer.

Some doctors say ten minutes apart some say five, so ask your doctor and see what they feel is the proper timing.

it differs on the doctor and the hospital, I waited until 5 mins to leave with my daughter and I almost had her on the way, she was born a few mins after we arrived. good luck on your new addition!

if the contractions continue NO matter what you do, and continue to get stronger and closer together then its real labor and you should go to the hospital. Goodluck and CONGRATS
