I'm wondering if anyone in society values modesty anymore? With Britney, Lindsay, and Paris flashing their vaginas everywhere, and clothes getting smaller and smaller, and tighter everyday I am starting to wonder if ANYONE remembers the beauty of a woman as opposed to the assets of a whore? I'm not a the type of person who believes in extremes, I'm not advocating puritan clothing values or anything. I just wish women had enough respect for themselves to keep SOME things private. If you run around with your body exposed, what are people to think of you? I find it so sad that women these days think that the attention they get for displaying their breasts, and behinds (and more!) in public is positive. I guess these days lustful whistles and comments are better than a man who is stopped in his tracks by grace and beauty. Serious comments?

No sir, I was not referring only to television. Visit a mall, a high school or middle school...even a grocery store! These days it is everywhere!

I would LOVE to comment. First of all, let me confess that I do not have a magazine perfect body. I wear a size 8-10 and I try to dress in what makes me feel comforable with myself, makes me feel individual and happy, and what looks flattering for my size and stature. I don't care necessarily how other women dress...I am even becomming desensitized to Jr. High school girls wearing tanks that accentuate any beginnings of curvature on thier bods. And THAT is sad. We are a society that looks first at appearance...and occasionally never looks beyond that. We are teaching our children to dress and act sexually because this is the way to move up in the world. Sadly, modesty has fallen to wayside. Even professional women with strict dress codes find ways to "skirt" around looking too modest and manly in order to earn some extra points with people. It's...disturbing and it is America. I saw a little girl's t-shirt at Old Navy today that said, "How can it be wrong when it feels so right?" I choked on my breath when I read that shirt. This is what it is coming to?!?!?!

Absolutely Snow, these immodest women are also defining beauty and femininity for a generation of young girls. It is sad. On my campus I see all of these intelligent women (I know they are intelligent if they are pursuing education) wearing these short skirts and low cut blouses and acting like a ditzy Paris Hilton. Why? Do they think it makes them desirable? And the guys do in fact swarm them and pacify them. Is that what men want, dumb girls, with too much makeup on, in a short skirt? What ever happened to appreciating intelligent and beautiful women who are still modest?

Okay, where did you see all these scantly clad women? On TV, right? How do people that work for TV make their money? By providing the viewing audience what they want. With that in mind, would you say you're in the majority or the minority?

Beauty is an opinion. What you find beautiful, I might not. I'm sorry if the modern age of lust offends you, but you do have the option of changing the channel.

Best wishes.

i agree, what is the next generation looking up to? britney spears, come on now, she leaves her husband then goes out drinking, showing her private parts, doing cocaine, and became bi sexual. that is the type of women that are now out there. and it makes me sick. just because you look good does'nt mean the whole world needs to see it....
