it could be 1 of 3 things that come to mind
#1 you may be pregnant, if so this is a natural change your body goes through.
#2 It may be a simple as a pre menstral symptom, associated with hormone changes before and during your period.
#3 if it is 1 breast, it may be a cyst, but not to worry cysts are mostly nothing and rarely need intervention unless they get to painful or large.
If it's persistent and lasts a while have yourself checked out by a GYN doctor.

It could be a number of things. If you enjoy caffeine it could be fibrocystic breast. This means that caffeine causes small little cysts that make your breast tender at any time of the month. If you keep up the caffeine you keep up with the tenderness. Chocolate also does this. If you'd like to keep both taking vitamin E oil tablets helps. Try not to manipulate or massage them either.
If it is close to your cycle it could be the change in hormones. The change in hormones could make your breasts tender and there is not much to do but to stay away again from caffeine. Again take Vitamin E Oil tablets this helps ALOT!
I would do monthly breasts exams just to make sure you don't have any lumps. If you do and don't know what you are looking for. The more you do them...(monthly) you will notice what is normal. What has been there, and don't have to worry about. But lumpy breasts are usually called fibrocystic breasts and are caused by caffeine. This is not cancerous so don't worry alot of us have this!

First off how old are you, and second off is there any chance of pregnancy. If your still going through puberty, then they will hurt on occasion. If you can be pregnant its very natural for breasts to hurt in all stages of pregnancy. Your going to have to give a little more info to get a good answer for that. =)

sometimes breasts tinge a little around your period time, well atleast mine do anyway. if you have had them enlarged or they have grown then maybe the pain is just the pressure of the stretching of the skin.if it is a constant pain i would visit your gp/doc.
