Why not?
I would be concerned about my own health if i suspected there might be complications. Otherwise, I'd read up on the procedures, check the pros and cons, and do what I felt was best for my own emotional and mental well being.
My name is Amiko-Gabriel. I work with a lot of sociology studies. I'm also a gender educator. I direct an online gender education community called "Gender Schmender." GS isn't your run of the mill "rate my picture" community. We have a sociological basis and discuss a wide array of topics concerning human identities, bodies, and society. We're an international community and currently home to 214 members. You are more than welcome to stop in and take a peak and even stick around if you find it interesting ^_~ (link below)

Well, why shouldn't you? If that's what you feel is right for you, you absolutely should. Goodness knows so many trans people have put off making that decision because of what other people think, and have had to live miserable lives in the meantime where they couldn't be who they really are. If a person is ready to make that decision to go through with a sex change, then they should go for it. Just try to find support where you can, and don't let anyone else tell you what's best for you.

So, Sean wants to change his sex, eh? Well, cheers to you big guy. Seems to me there are so many other serious things to worry about but, whatever makes you happy. See if Social Security or Disability will cover the cost.

If thats what you truly want then go for it, forget all this rubbish about it being weird about other peoples thoughts feelings. If it is the only way you can be truly happy and be you then go for it. The world is made up of all sorts of people, different backgrounds different thoughts, some good some bad, we all have to share this globe, this life. If it is and you are really sure right for you go for it. I mean what is wrong in changing ones sex, it;s not like you are chasing kids, or murdering people. You get one shot at life dont sit back with regrets. You are you as are we all, accept be happy, and accept those around you for who they are.
Good look

Do you want to? Do you feel like a woman inside? You should be the judge of that, not Sean.

Hi, this is sean...it seems some of you misunderstood the question...it was...why I shouldnt change my gender...not why YOU should not...those of you who registered your disgust[or worse]this is for you...
Theres no such thing as ugly...its an invention
In all probability created in response to our fears of stepping outside of the box...the envelope...the CAVE of convention
What we are are mirrors
What we see in others are reflections of our own personalities
Matters for judgement of our own moral and aesthetic perceptions...so...if, when you look at me what you see is...some poor, sad, deluded tranny deserving of your sympathy and pity
Put simply....UGLY LOOK, UGLY SEE
To those of you that showed me a glimpse of your free and caring minds...thankyou...you are both loving and lovely.
Incidentally...i am 1 year into my gender change without the slightest tiniest incident...i love it
MORE ON MYSPACE...search by e mail adress secretagender@hotmail.co.uk. bye!

IT IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU whether you want to change your sex or not. Nobody should force you to have a sex change, and nobody should force you not to have one. It is your body, your right as a person. I changed mine and I am happy.
You can do whatever you want, have a sex change, or have plastic surgery to make you look more like a girl, whatever you want. The only thing that can't be changed is the voice, but there are ways to train it to sound feminine.
I hope this helps! :)

I asked my friend if she would have a sex change, if it was ever offered for free. Her reply was "of course I would!" but it was the way she said it.... as if I'd be stupid to turn it down...
It's sad that people feel so uncomfortable in their bodies that they feel the need to have surgery..... Oh well.

Because: if he's searching for answers on Yahoo!, it clearly means he has not done enough research on his own yet to make an informed decision. It's a huge commitment, labor intensive, physically and psychologically demanding, and therefore ought to require very careful consideration.

Because, you can! I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not normal but it's not abnormal. Well, just a little, but what a story he will be able to tell when he's older.
