Ok my daughter came home from school a couple days ago..She is in 10th and her social studies teacher said that Bill Gates was going to give every American Citizen 1 Million Dollars..I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true or have a link about it..She said it was a couple years ago and the government denied his offer. I heard of him giving to charities but not this..is this true of false?

it may be true.
i have heard rumors about this from time to time, but i just see this as impossible.
a million dollars for every american citizen?
the amount he would have to pay would probably exceed the limit of zeroes i could type on my computer (and there IS no limit).

Bill Gates gives to charity, and he is not one of those rich, snobby, people, but i think that is just way too overzealous (not that we wouldnt appreciate it) and there is no need to do somethign like that.

hope this helps!

Let's do the math...

$1 million times 300,000,000 is, what, 300,000,000,000,000, or $300 trillion dollars?!??

Do you think that Bill Gates is worth $300 trillion dollars? That's roughly 25 times the annual US Gross National Product, which is the sum total of everything done and produced in the USA.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't true. Just saying. I'll keep my day job.

false b/c if you have ever watched vh1 you will find out bill gates only has $1000 dollars for every US citizen and $1 for the person in the world. He does not have enough for US citizen to have 1 million dollars.

She either misunderstood or the teacher is an idiot. He would need $300,000,000,000,000 dollars to do that (300 trillion dolars)
even he doesn't have that much money.

deffinately false....

i think 1 million times 3 hundred million would make bill gates go broke....

And anyways inflation would just take over so it wouldnt help....

Sounds like something he would do, to try to divert the public's attention from the fact that if people like him would equally spread their wealth around the globe world hunger could probably be extinguished.

What???? Are you an idiot? He doesnt have enough money. Think about it 1,000,000 x 300,000,000 doesn't equal 64 billion.
