why are they called bomber hinges?

Question

for any one who dosnt know what they are, they are a double action, spring loaded hinge used alot in hospitals and resturants.
I was just wondering why they are called by that name.

I know the answer, im just looking for logical sounding lies

In the beginning the doors face each other people would swing them both open from the middle like bomber doors. One would open from left to right the other right to left and a person would pop out like a bomb. No matter if you were inside or out you got the same view.

They were the same hinges used on the original bombers.
