Well if we didn't have conscience then we would be on animal platform. Our conscience is what keeps us from doing wrong things. Those who are less conscious do no hear their conscIEnce and do things to harm themselves and other. Now being bodily conscious is another thing. We are not these bodies ie; Race, color, nationality, religion, job, personality, etc. we are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the supreme soul. We are endowed with different creative abilities which are meant to use in service of our creator God also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. If we do not use our talents to servee God then we will have to get the Karma (reaction to our action) good or bad. Best to stop this karma all together and serv God with our activities and talents.
