Does this black guy know you think of him more as a color than an individual? Apparently you do since you didn't just say you were leaving your girlfriend for a guy. As for your girlfriend, it sounds like she'd be a lot better off without you.

break the fact that you are leaving as gently as possible -- I don't see why it would matter for who -- or why anyone would care whether it was a black male or a white female or a yellow transgender -- the important thing is that you are leaving. Tell her, and leave. It will be better for everyone.
