A better question is why do you think there is anything wrong with it? They want to sell merchandise for Christmas gifts. I hope your question was sarcastic. If not, I feel sorry for you because you are hopelessly politically correct.

Because we celebrate Christmas & thats what we the people want.We are shopping for Christmas! Not everyone celebrates Christmas but most of the world does. I dont get offended when someone says Happy Hanukkah or Happy Festivus etc. Everyone has the right to celebrate their belief. And here in America ,,there is Freedom of Speech.

why on earth wouldnt they? christmas is the season, and it being used as a word can't be an issue because thats its real historical background. the season is celebrated because of what it initially, and still does, represent.

There's no reason why they shouldn't. It's only in governmental buildings and institutions where one has to be careful not to show preference to a certain religion. You know, the whole separation of church and state thing; there's no separation of church and shopping.

Why would they NOT use the word Christmas???? If it weren't for Jesus Christ, (hence the word CHRISTmas), there wouldn't even be Christmas.
