Question

does anyone have any ideas on how to hold my 240 pound teacher with using only a piece of paper and a plank of wood. It has to hold him for 30 seconds and at least be 1/2 inchs off the ground.

Attach two 1/2" strips of wood to 1 face of the plank.
Turn it over and place the paper on the face,have your teacher stand on it and he/she wil be 1/2 " off the floor supported by the plank and paper. It will hold for more than 30 seconds.

cut two peices off the side of the plank, and put them under the rest of it :)
