Try doing a search for pics of some cosplayers. The traditional Black Mage's wear black cloaks (blue for Vivi) with a tall yellow hat.
The Best one that comes to mind is Vivi. He has a blue cloak, with brown shoes and a hat. He has a belt and tan pants

You're doing cosplay and you don't know what the character wears? You need to nerdify yourself some more before going all cosplayish. What she said on the outfit, but practice smelling worse and not shaving before going to the event. You'll fit in better.
