Im on birth control and its the pill this time. Since ive started ive gained weight, my moods have changed and ive found myself being depressed alot. My boyfriend thinks it would be good if i stay on it because he wants to be sure every month but because of these side effects and more im really considering changing my mond and just making sure that we use a condom EVERY time. And keeping up with that is not a problem. Is it a good idea or not?

you should switch pills. some times one just does not work for a girl. you might need to try two or three diffrent pills to find the right one. so i suggest calling your doc and having them give you a different one to try. tell them you are having mood disruptions on this one along with weight gain and depression. They should try you on something else. i'd say at least give another one a shot. cause when you find one that works great with no bad side effects (for some there are good side effects like light short periods and no cramps) it is a wonderful thing. good luck. some one else said try depo i recomend against this. if you are having depression problems on a the pill which you can quit any time you dont want to try depo. lots of girls experience depression on it and your stuck for 3 long months for it to wear off some times longer for all side effects to go away. don't try it also it causes lots and lots of weight gain on people. i'v seen sevral small girls gain 30+lbs on depo. also it's being rexamined because of its side effects by the medical community.

I would go in and change your kind. It may take awhile to find the one pill that is right for you. I don't suggest the shot or implants. I know girls that have done both, one girl gained 30 lbs on the shot. The other girl gained over 15 lbs that was on the implants. I think that alot of your problems is just because you are on the wrong pill. My cousin had to be switched around like 4 times on pills before she found the right one that worked for her. Don't give up! If all else fails and you just don't want to be switched around so much, stop taking them and just use condoms.

Yes(stay on birth control) and no (don't stay on the pills you are on) .... there are a lot of different choices in birth control pills. Talk to your doctor about side effects and she will give you something different.

Birth control pills are very dangerous because they mess with your hormones. That is why you are experiencing mood swings, feeling depressed and have gained weight. I would stop using it. You don't want to mess with the internal structure of the human body. Condoms are much better and safer in terms of your own personal health and the future of your health.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone telling you to stay on the pills, but switch kinds.

try getting the deprovara (sp?) shot....I haven't tried it, but i heard there are less side effects. Condoms break, they're not exactly trustworthy.
