A lot of people do learn from their mistakes. The ones who don't in the first place are the ones who don't see their mistakes or the ones who are in a denial mode and don't accept their mistakes.

look in Bengali culture there is a proverb which says that: -
The life teaches us. First it cites example of other people who has gone through the same peril. If we learn seeing them all is well. If we do not it makes us to hear about such people. If we still do not it makes us to go through the same situation. It works most of the time. But some people still do not. Life stops teaching them.
These people are so stubborn or think themselves to be so adept that they just ignore the happenings.The result in most of the cases in worst. They get into more intense trouble. If they still do not life leave their accompanience & they fail to survive.

Everybody is the master of his own.so they do not learn but teach.
We have got two eyes to see the others and their mistakes but there is no visible eye to look oneself. So people do not realise and learn from their mistakes.

1.mode of goodness
2.mode of passion
3.mode of ignorance
The people who lives in the mode of ignorance keep doing the mistakes because they never understands their mistakes.

I don't know. My dad never seems to learn. He gets spending tickets and is well aware that he's going at least 15 miles over the limit and then he gets all confused/mad when he gets a ticket.

It is because most people are stubborn and it is easier to make more mistakes than try to do what's right just because of our selfish imperfect ways and oh, we must blame our fearless enemy, Satan the Devil.
