If a cell phone policy restricitng the use of cell phones while operating a vehicle was enacted in your state, would you fully comply? I want to know if you would continue using your cell phone or stop. Also, the crime is punishable by a fine.

I would comply, but I have a bluetooth headset so it's hands free anyway.

Talking to someone on the phone is no different the talking to someone sitting in the car with you. Are they going to make passengers in a car illegal too?

I live in a state that has a requirement for hands free and it is not ever enforced. It is a real problem. People drive too fast as it is. They are talking away on the phone and do not pay attention to how close they are.

Banning using a phone while operating a vehicle is wrong.

Defiantly. here in NC a new law just came into effect that if you have a restricted license (first 6 moths of driving minimum) you are not allowed to talk on your cell phone other then to your parents while driving.

wonderful Idea. If you have not even been driving for 6 months, your eyes need to be on the road, and both hands on the wheel (unless you drive stick). Sorry, but if you want to talk, pull over or else you're a hazard to the rest of us.

I wouldn't place a call, yet if it was an incoming call I would answer it.
