ok here is the situation at home.

i got to PCs at home which used to connect through crossover cable to each other and also share a Single ISP. but sharing 1 ISP is pretty laggy,

so i got myself another internet connection. which bring me to my real question can i still use the crossover cable to connect both PC and only share files and not the ISP?
Thx

I agree. Although it can be done, just turn off Internet Connection Sharing, it would be cheaper to just upgrade both to a single faster broadband connection.

Why didnt you just get a faster internet speed? You didnt have to get 2 connections. Also, connect the computers with a hub, its better than a cross over cable alone and a 8 port hub wont cost much money at all. And yes, you can still see each computer in their own network. It doesnt matter that they have different ISP although I am wondering exactly what it was you did.

Yes, just share the files the same way using Windows networking.

Getting a router will always make things easier (to handle a windows network) than a crossover cable though. There are very cheap these days too. Also, if you ever get highspeed, then you will need a router anyways to share the connection.

Um, your better solution would have been to stick with your single connection and buy a router, which would have let you share files over the home network as well as give both computers internet access. Doing it this way is kind of backwards and inefficient.
