Batman.
He was one of the few superheros that did not actually have any superpowers, yet he was still able to save many people. I mean if you actually had superpowers you really have only the choices of either become a superhero or villain or go into hiding and have serious issues. Batman actually made the conscious decision to put his own life at risk to protect others. He also had one of the coolest costumes and gadgets.

I think many heroes are "better" then Superman.

Now don't get me wrong I like Big Blue but he's just TOO damn powerful. He's got nearly every super power that matters... and even higher ups at DC have said he is over the top:

In an interview with Joe Casey, he states that Superman can re-arrange the Solar System and tear a star apart. "I've always seen Superman as this completely over-the-top, fantastic character who has no limits whatsoever," writes Casey. Unencumbered by mental blocks, "Superman is unbeatable."

I think Spider-man is a "better" hero then Supes. Here is a guy, a normal guy who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes superhuman. But unlike Superman, Spider-man is still a "normal guy". He has normal problems. He has shitty luck. He gets the crap kicked out of him. He bleeds and life is hard on him. It his struggle that makes him better then someone who is "invincible".

It really depends on if you speak of strictly the DC universe, or are including other greats like Marvel comics. Many superheroes have strengths and weaknesses that could easily counter another.

For example, Professor Xavier of the X men, could easily use telepathic attacks to bring the man of steel to his knees. Really, Superman's biggest vulnerability would be to any Telepathic or Telekinetic attack. So Jean Grey and Emma Frost would equally be able to defeat him. Also, there was Thanos when he had the infinity gauntlet (more powerful than all gods/titans combined), although he is more of a villain, since he did blink out half of the universe's population. Rogue could possibly do it, by absorbing his powers and knocking him out. The brood queen could do it by converting him into another Brood. X-men especially had lots of nasties like this.

However, if you are speaking strictly DC, then there is probably noone who can, except Batman, who managed to acquire some Kryptonite.

Superman and spiderman are my two favorites in the movies.
They have each had excellent movies or at least one excell-
ent one. In the comic books, I never took any notice of spider-
man, but Capt. Marvel (whose face was apparently based on
Fred MacMurray, leading man of 40's movies, and subse-
quently a millionaire businessman) was always foremost in
my interest, more so than superman. There was a whole philo-
sophical background to the Capt Marvel series, including
ancient Greek mythology and the like, which carried over into
Wonder Woman, who must have been done by the same
team of creators, I imagine.
