Francisca is derived from St. Francis or Francisco. It's a nice name. My granddaughter is named Frances, which is the same name spelled in a different way. There is also Francesca.

Francisca is very pretty, kind of wild and beautiful. It would look beautiful followed up with another name in that vain.
Examples:
Francisca Isabella
Francisca Natalia
Francisca Victoria
Francisca Maria

It's pretty. There was a drama on TV...I want to say mid-late '90s called "Sisters" and they all had names with "boyish" nicknames: Alex, Teddy, Georgie, Frankie and later got reunited with half-sister, Charlie. Well, Frankie's real name was Francesca. That's probably why I like it. Not possitive on the spelling, though.

Well it's usually Francesca, and the nickname for that would Chesca. So if you call your baby Francisca, then her nickname would be......Chisca. And that sounds weird.

Can you post more questions in a shorter period?

How about one post with multiple questions.

And the name...goofy.

Listen to your husband...he sounds like a good voice of reason.

Maybe Francesca, with the i, its not the name of a young person in the 21st century.

It's very pretty, but I would probably change the i to e, to make the pronounciation different.

its ok, not something i would call my daughter, but if you can get your hubby to like it, i cant see the problem with it as long as she has a pretty middle name too
