Best Pesticide For Roaches

Unfortunately, those tropical roaches you have in Hawaii are really tough to get rid of with "natural" methods. Not too many roaches respond to natural insecticides, and you always have the problem of your cat becoming ill from anything you use. There are insecticides that won't harm pets--but they aren't really strong enough for roaches. Call a professional exterminator. They can fumigate your house with an insecticide that will leave no residue for the cat. And they can also help you find out where they are coming from and what you need to do about it. For now, you can try sprinkling bay leaves around in your cupboards, or anywhere up off the floor (so the cat won't chew on them) and make sure all your food is sealed in airtight containers. If you can find the main nest, you can actually just smash them with a brick or hammer and kill them. Look in some place that is warm and damp (in Hawaii that's likely to be everywhere--that's why you have such a bad problem.) Under the sink is a favorite place--you may have to pry up the "floor" of the sink cupboard to find it. And once you kill as many as you can, then you can spray under there and put the boards back--the cat won't be harmed by that. But if you still have a problem, call a pro.

Powdered Boric Acid is by far the best thing you can get to get rid of those nasty things. I have had apartments in the past when the little b*****ds would meet you at the door when you got home from work.

Sprinkle it in dark corners, under the sink, behind the furniture, and in the door ways into your house. It will get rid of them. The best part is the fact that it won't harm your pets. It is absorbed into the body through the feet of the insects. Give it a month or so and they will be gone. I promise you.

You can get the powdered boric acid at any pharmacy. Best thing about it: It's CHEAP!

most insecticides kill only what is alive they neglect to tell you about the thousands of eggs left behind what I found that works spray one kind of spray then spray a different formula roaches will become imune to the same spray so change it often then place roach bait in areas where you see them also boric acid in cracks and crevisis help

If your house is attached to another (or you live in a block of flats) then you'll need to get all attached dwellings treated at the same time - otherwise they'll keep getting back in.

I use something called Mortein and another called Baygon over here in Australia and that kills the blighters

You will get many answers. Boric acid mixed with equal parts of sugar works for me and is less toxic to the environment. Good luck.

boric acid. It takes about 2 weeks to work. I also recently read something that said to take off your switchplates, and plug in covers and put boric acid inside there to help prevent them from coming back through the walls.

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk
