No it's not crazy. I named my child from a movie that I saw and absolutely fell in love with it. I like Maureen, pretty and not all out there.

You aren't as weird as you think. I've had that happen too, although as much as I love our president, I just can't imagine calling a sweet little baby George. He'd be at least forty before he grew into it, so I named my car George instead.
Maureen is a bit different. I could actually imagine naming a baby that. It is also a great middle name if you aren't crazy about Marie (my own middle name, which I like mostly because it sounds good with my first name).

Maureen is a nice name, it is not used much, and therefore special. There also was a Maureen Regan, the daughter of President Ronald Regan and his first wife. Maureen Regan was a very nice lady; she died of cancer some time ago.

You may think we are freaky but here goes:
Parker Arnold: Parker for Peter Parker of Spiderman fame, Arnold for my Grandfather.
Thomas Xavier: Thomas for my hubby's Grandfather, Xavier for Professor Xavier from X Men
I have always admired these characters since I was a kid, and having two boys I thought well at least they get playground cred! HAHAHA! Plus they just sound really nice and there have been studies about names and admissions to schools, jobs everything!

I fell in love with the name Elaina after Elaina Cassadine on General Hospital played by Elizabeth Taylor. I later found out she was actualy called Helena, but Elaina is what I fell in love with and named my daughter. I still say i named her after Elizabeth Taylor though.

Ha Ha.. that's totally normal.. I judge names because of people..
I've even caught myself saying "Ugh.. I don't like that name!" & such.. and it's not really the name I don't like.. it's a person with that name that I don't like..
For example.. Hillary.. can't stand the name.. it's annoying to me. Ha Ha.
