Work really hard on skills and training. Rollerblades are a good start. Try doing shots and stick drills on a really smooth surface (where you won't break anything).
If there is a YMCA or other community fitness center around, see if you can join and ask a trainer to teach you drills for hockey muscles, like squats and wrist exercises.
Find anyplace where you can play! You have to play somewhere to get noticed. Ask to go to a summer hockey camp. You'll play 6 hours a day, and lots of ex-NHL people run the camps a a retirement job. They can help too.
Good luck in your dream!

I'd hate to crush you dreams, but I have to be honest. There are kids that have been playing hockey and skating since before they could read. Many players have been playing for travel teams playing 40 or so games a year since they were only 5. Most of them share your dream. For most players, if they have not been noticed by the age of 15-16ish as being an unbelievably extraordinary player, it will probably never happen. There are always exceptions to this and anything can happen. If you really want to try to play hockey, tryout for your highschool team or a local midget(the oldest age of youth hockey--before Juniors) team. If you are the best player on your team, you might have a 1 in 100 chance of getting into a Division 1 hockey school. If this happens, you will probably need to be a star on this team to ever get drafted. If you can't play highschool or college try playing midgets. Midgets range from the age of 15 to 17. After that (or even some time before that is over) try an play Juniors. They are a major stepping stone for almost all professional hockey players today. Most pros play a few years of juniors for a ticket into Division 1 hockey schools. It helps to be a collge freshman at the age of 22. If you follow this plan, there is a small chance you will become a pro.
Good look

Travel dude, I don't know what state you live in, but there's bound to be a hockey team somewhere in your state. If you say Minnesota or Massachusetts I'll slap you, there are pleanty of hockey programs there. Ask your parents for a ride or bus money and get rollin'.

interior the spring of 1972 i replaced into ranked #a million in jap Canada as a goalie, I already had invites to 2 NHL practise camps at 15 and performed adverse to the Canadian Olympic crew at age 14. regrettably I chosen a diverse direction and ended up in detention center at 17 and my occupation led to the previous it all started. I used to love teasing men like Rick Vaive that he wan't going to score when we performed adverse to him, in reality lived for the game yet I had different themes. it really is historic historic previous, I now have 3 boys of my personal, none of whom play hockey. I positioned the pads on for the perfect time again in 1992 at age 36 and had an absolute blast yet in all honesty I likely under no circumstances ought to have lasted besides, I blew my knees out two times and residing in Edmonton in the course of the Gretzky years, replaced right into a season value ticket holder and watched the OIlers prepare each of the time and that i had nowhere close to the dedication required. the game replaced into meant to be relaxing and that it replaced into. Regrets, lots, yet I have many tremendous hockey concepts which consists of a close out on the Pee-Wee adventure in Quebec city in 1969, had the threat to coach with a semi-professional crew for 3 months and sit down on the bench at 13 at the same time as their goaltender's appendix ruptured for the period of their video games. Had some tremendous coaches, tremendous teammates so at the same time as i ought to have a be apologetic about or 2, i'd not contain my hockey days. proper sport interior the international, bar none(with the exception of the lame regulations they have now suitable to the front of the web, defensemen contact a guy and a penalty is termed).
