no, if you think a question is dumb then then you don't have to answer it. 2 points is not so important, so you can just answer the questions which you like to answer.

I generally don't. I'll pass on one too stupid to deal with, or too obvious, like the 10-year-old wanting to know if her boyfriend is really in love with her or what... The points aren't all that important, they're just something to show how much time we've spent on here!

Maybe it's because the ones who respond as such swims in the shallow waters...may not be equipped with the right gear or afraid of the depths of thought, so they respond with shallow comments.
