every time i get my period my back gets really sore. it hurts like crap. what type of pain killers should i use.



i have had my period for almost 2 years.

i get the same thing. i use midol. it works pretty good. also try using a heating pad or one of those icyhot back patches.

I use regular ol' ibuprofen (generic works just fine) liquigels. AND a heating pad reallllly helps. If you cant use a heating pad for an hour or so, then get one of those "sore muscle" sticky patches...Ben gay makes a good one.

try taking advil (2 of them) every 4 hours. also get a heating pad as these help relax the abdominal muscles. if you dont want to invest in one of these, get one of those squishy ice packs. most of those can be heated in the microwave.

try these exercises: a. curl up in a ball
b. stand against a wall, trying to get all parts
of the back of your body to touch the wall

It is awful, I tried advil, it kind of helped. But the best thing was doing excercise, it really is good. Not that day, that day put something warm on your back or tummy.

I second that - mild exercises & warm bottle/pack on lower abs..
You can lie on your back, raise legs & hug knees to your chest.
A hot water pack is really soothing too.
