You have a few options. First, women's clinics are a great place to start. Like anything, they all differ from clinic to clinic but all have one thing in mind to some degree and that is the welfare of the women they serve.

Another option is getting low cost counseling (sliding scale) from a counselor you pick from the phone book, a referral from a friend, etc. They base your fee on your ability to pay. You can basically 'interview' them on the first session asking; if they have experience in what you are seeing them for, what are their credentials, what success rate they have and do they have a sliding scale.

The last option is not always offered in every community. Some counseling schools (like JFK) have clinics where graduating students counsel for dirt cheap rates. These are people on their last leg to get their license so they aren't just off the street. I went this route when I could no longer afford a regular counselor and it was fantastic. I had some of the most caring women counselors who I will always be grateful to for being there in my time of need.

Then there is the online counselors. I know of only one that is free, a Christian Counselor on blogsource.

It would help to know what type of help you require and what type of doctor you are looking for. As you mention women's clinics I wonder if you are looking for a gynecologist. Every county has clinics for family planning and you do not need to want a family to go there. They charge in proportion to what you are able to pay and if you are completely without funds then there will be no charge. Unfortunately if you live with your parents and or are still in school your parents income will be taken into account. I think it is very nice that you have devoted yourself to your studies rather than working. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. I hope that this helps to reduce your confusion and if I may be of further assistance to you please let me know.

You can type in the name of your county and the phrase mental health programs. It should take you to links that can help you. The experience people I know have had with county assisted mental health has been pretty good. Like any therapy situation it's about finding a good fit between you nd your therapist. There are group therapy options as well but if you are not comfortable with that they have individual help. It you are suicidal they put you on the fast track, obviously. The important thing is to be honest and let people know what you need. It's free by the way.
Good luck kid. Keep your chin up.
Ciao!

do your parents have health insurance? they should be able to take care of that. If not, you could be able to get a medical card. It is harder to get mental care, but there are places that will do it on the basis of your income. locally, we have prestera center. look in your phone book for mental health clinics.
womens clinics, like planned parenthood are really good. They are clean, and the doctors are very nice (it has been my experience). they also will go by how much income you have, and may care for you for free. these are mostly just for gyno, and birth control needs though.

Call your doctor. They can refer you to a therapist. If you can't afford it, go to your local Medicaid office and apply. They will help pay all of your medical bills.
