what do i need>? sound is not working i keep reinstalling the driver.. (c-media,avance, realtek) <-- i tried them all and no effect.. it says there that there is no problem on the sound card.. is this a sound card or a onboard? if a sound card can u pls help me lcate sound card in the CPu? coz i will open it up later..

The AC'97 Audio controller is you on-board sound chip.

check the connections to your speakers, (try headphones to test)

check the settings on your sound control Mixer (usually represented as a small speaker icon in your systray (near the clock) double click to get the bigger mixing desk.

ensure vol is turned up and that the Mute box is not ticked.

test sound my moving the master vol (as it makes a "ding" noise when pressed)

gor to the start menu > right click my computer > click the hardware tap on the top > click on device manager > look at the list there should be sound drivers

it is onboard sound, and sometimes need to be enable in the bios to work. If device manager says it is fine then check to see if it is configured for SPDIF/coax/optical out or for analogs.
